I want to write – I want to edit – The best way to improve my writing style is to write. This blog was created so I could practice writing.
What will I write about? Growth – Sharing my journey and encouraging growth in others. What kind of growth? Personal, relationship, vegetable, and talent.
“Make the most of yourself, for that is all there is of you.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
Kathleen: Given name; origin, English & Irish; means Pure.
Words that describe Kathleen: Impulsive – Self-control is a challenge. Emotional – in touch with all of them. Creative, with an Obsessive streak. Resistant to change – Initially; NO is usually the first thought. Loving, nurturing, caring spirit. Accepting, which is different from Approving.
“No matter where you go, there you are.” ~ Confucius
Personal Growth, for me, involves keeping an open mind. Listening to the perspectives of others, their suggestions, and coming to my own conclusions. We are individuals and not everything that works for you works for me. Furthering my education, formally and otherwise. Trying new ways to do familiar tasks. Quotes provide guidance, steer the rudder.
“I get by with a little help from my friends.” ~ John Lennon, Paul McCartney
I participate in a 12-step group and work on being a better person during most every waking moment. Today’s version of me is a lot different from the woman who stopped doing mind-altering substances 12+ years ago. That’s all you need to know for the moment. More will be revealed.
“Sometimes you just have to let life unfold and trust it will guide you in the right direction.” ~ Natasha Buckmaster
Relationship growth. This applies to ALL types of relationships, not just the romantic ones. Parents, co-workers, friends, children, classmates, the checker at the supermarket, that inconsiderate driver who didn’t use his turn signal. I work on my behavior every day, looking for the best in others and practicing detachment from those who prove toxic to my environment.
“’Why not?’ is a slogan for an interesting life.” ~ Mason Cooley
